Sewage System Malfunction (Public Sewer Line from Property Line)
Responsibilities of the Municipal Utilities: Public sewer / Main sewer:
Before reporting blockages, it should be ensured that they are not located on private property. The property owner is responsible for the pipes on the property up to the main sewer and is obliged to maintain them. The inspection chamber, if available, can be used to check whether the wastewater is still flowing properly from the property and whether the blockage must be in the municipal network. If an inspection chamber is available, it is usually located on the property or as an inspection chamber in the building (for example in the basement or connection room). It should be accessible at all times.
Precise details of the location of the blockage will make it easier to clear. The following details are important when reporting:
- Name, address and callback number of the reporting party,
- Details of the location of the blockage (street, house number),
- If possible, describe the situation in more detail.
In the event of blockages in the public sewer connection, backflow, sewer/pipe breaks, or disruptions to the public sewer system, please contact our emergency hotline.

- Depending on the nature of the damage, contact a specialized sewer rehabilitation and pipe cleaning company or a local plumbing and heating contractor.
