During a visit to the Berghotel Kristall, Mayor Frank Frühauf and Sarah Wagner from the city’s economic development office learned about the hotel’s operations and development. Owner Max Stauch provided fascinating insights into daily operations and gave them a tour of the facility.
The mountain hotel’s close connection to the region and its gemstone culture became particularly evident. During an interesting guided tour, it became clear how the themes of gemstones, nature, and regional tourism can be intertwined. At the same time, the potential of hiking tourism in particular became clear: Numerous hikers explore the region and represent an important target group for local tourism offerings. The discussion also focused on the further development of these offerings. For example, existing opportunities could be expanded even further in the future, and cooperation with the “Edelsteinland” region could be intensified.
“With its gemstones, its landscape, and its dedicated hosts, the region has a lot to offer. That is precisely why it is important to link the existing offerings even more closely and raise their profile together,” emphasized Mayor Frühauf. In addition to professional insights, the focus was above all on personal interaction. “Visits like these are a great opportunity to take more time for personal interaction, to listen, and to get to know the people behind the businesses,” the mayor continued.
The visit to the Berghotel Kristall clearly demonstrated the opportunities that lie in closer collaboration among local hosts, tourism offerings, hiking tourism, and the region’s gemstone industry.
