In addition to the normal building permit procedure, the simplified building permit procedure, the extension of a building permit, the exemption procedure, the preliminary building application, the extension of a preliminary building permit, the partial building permit and its extension are also available there. Applications can be submitted conveniently around the clock from home via the portal. The entire building application is then processed centrally via the portal: All departments involved in the construction can exchange information there, view information and upload documents. This eliminates paper printouts, long journeys and waiting times for postal delivery. At the same time, applicants can view the processing status at any time and submit missing documents if required. In particular, the architect's/designer's power of attorney and an extract from the flash flood hazard map must be attached to the applications. At the end of the procedure, the decision is then also made available in digital form via the portal.
With the digital building application, the city administration of Idar-Oberstein is consistently driving forward the digitalization of its administrative services. Numerous other requests can already be submitted or processed online - including vehicle registration, housing and parental allowance, maintenance advance, registration for daycare places and much more. The range of services is constantly being expanded and many more digitization projects are in the pipeline.
