New health center opened

Together with owner Franziska Schmitt, Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf opened the new PhysioPlus health center last weekend. The therapy facility, located in the Tiefenstein district, is probably the largest of its kind in Idar-Oberstein with an area of more than 700 square meters.

Franziska Schmitt already runs the PhysioPro health center in Birkenfeld. Now she has created a second mainstay in Idar-Oberstein. Together with her partner Christian Müller and with the active support of family and friends, she has completely renovated the former Spar supermarket in Tiefensteiner Staden over the past eight months. "We offer a wide range of services here: Physiotherapy, manual lymphatic drainage and therapy, neurological treatments according to PNF, equipment training both on prescription and for self-payers, as well as courses for young and old and rehab sports," explained the state-certified physiotherapist. In addition, Gulsum Possen, a specialist in neurology, now runs her practice on the premises of the health center. A speech therapist is due to join the team in the course of the coming year.

"I am impressed by what has been created here over the past eight months," emphasized Mayor Frühauf in his welcoming address. A modern health center for physiotherapy and neurology has emerged from the former vacancy. It has an excellent infrastructure: modern, bright and spacious rooms with barrier-free access, as well as plenty of space. "You don't often find something like this in Idar-Oberstein." With the establishment of PhysioPlus, the Staden is increasingly becoming a health hotspot in Idar-Oberstein. There are already three other physio practices in the area. "Nevertheless, I am delighted about this addition to the range of therapies on offer," says Frühauf. The demand is high and will certainly continue to increase.
