Election workers wanted for local elections

The European and local elections will take place on Sunday, June 9, 2024. In order to enable as many citizens of the city as possible to reach the polling stations on foot, a total of 34 electoral boards, including eleven postal voting boards, will be set up in the Idar-Oberstein city area. More than 300 people - city employees, members of political parties and voters' associations as well as volunteers - will work in these boards to ensure that the elections run smoothly. However, due to the great demand, especially for local elections, the Idar-Oberstein city administration is still looking for additional volunteer electoral assistants.

Anyone who is eligible to vote can help. In addition to the good feeling of having helped to exercise the highest civic right, helpers receive 25 euros in refreshment money.

  • Anyone interested in working as a poll worker can contact the electoral office by calling 06781/64-1113 or -1125 or by sending an email to wahlhelfer@idar-oberstein.de. It is also possible to register digitally; a link to the online form can be found on the homepage of the municipal website www.idar-oberstein.de.
