Topping-out ceremony for the B&B Hotel

A new hotel has been under construction in Austraße in the Oberstein district since August 2023. The building, which will house a B&B Hotels chain hotel, is being constructed by DPKS Stein Immobilien GmbH. The topping-out ceremony for the new building took place last Friday.

On behalf of Managing Director Dag Stein-Herberger, Site Manager Melanie Keller welcomed the guests and thanked the contractors and their tradespeople in particular for their excellent and speedy work. This will ensure that the hotel, which will have 100 rooms with more than 200 beds, will open on September 2, 2024.

In his speech, Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf was delighted that many local companies are involved in the new building and are doing an impressive job. "With the B&B Hotel, the city center will have a new focal point for tourists, which will ensure further revitalization." The location with its proximity to the train station offers the hotel a perfect environment and an ideal starting point for short stays, vacations and business trips. "Both the town and the entire region will benefit from the new hotel." For EdelSteinLand and the National Park region, it is important to have as diverse a range of accommodation options as possible in different price categories.

After the speech, the carpenters from the Hoppe company in Sponheim climbed the scaffolding together with investor Dag Stein-Herberger. After Roman Hoppe had delivered the traditional topping-out speech, they shattered the emptied glasses on the ground. This is supposed to bring good luck for the further construction progress.

The B&B Hotels chain was founded in Brest, France, in 1990 and is now majority-owned by the US bank Goldman Sachs. The B&B Group has more than 770 hotels in several European countries and in Brazil; there are currently around 180 B&B Hotels in Germany.
