The building management team is looking for an architect (m/f/d) to support the diverse tasks in building construction.
The City of Idar-Oberstein's building management department looks after all municipal properties with regard to necessary new buildings and conversions. The building management department is also responsible for the structural maintenance of buildings and the management of technical facilities.
The scope includes schools, day-care centers, school sports and multi-purpose halls, fire stations, administration buildings, parking garages, public toilets, municipal theaters, exhibition halls, various other buildings such as the Idar-Oberstein train station, the municipal library and also some historic buildings such as Oberstein Castle.
The range of tasks is very diverse and varied. In addition to the usual building maintenance work required on buildings, construction measures such as extensions, conversions and new builds are also part of the job. As there is a large building stock, tasks relating to the restoration of building damage or preventive fire protection must be carried out. Experience in these two areas would be desirable.
The field of work includes the following areas in particular:
- Activities in all service phases of the Fee Structure for Architects and Engineers(HOAI) for object planning, buildings and interiors
- Refurbishment measures, new construction measures and general refurbishment of buildings in building classes 3 and 4 (Section 2 (2) of the State Building Regulations (LBauO)), fee zones III and IV (Section 12 HOAI)
- Processing of special projects.
The right to delegate further tasks is reserved.
Your requirements profile:
- Several years of relevant professional experience in all service phases of building planning
- In-depth knowledge of fire protection is an advantage
- Independence
- Responsibility and cost awareness
- Ability to work in a team
- Confident handling of common Windows programs
- Knowledge of CAD
- Driving license class B (formerly 3) is a prerequisite for employment
The prerequisite for filling the position is:
- a completed degree as an architect (m/f/d) specializing in structural engineering, e.g:
- Master of Arts (M.A.) Architecture (m/f/d)
- Dipl.-Ing. (FH/TU) Architecture (m/f/d)
This is a permanent position, which is generally suitable for part-time work, but is to be filled on a full-time basis. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be graded according to pay group 11 TVöD.

Employee (m/f/d) to support the controlling team
The main job contents include in particular
- Performing the tasks of central administrative controlling (supporting administrative management by providing information) including information procurement, planning, control and analysis of the reporting system and its documentation
- Participation in the clarification and definition of controlling standards as well as the development and documentation of basic principles
- Participation in the evaluation and conceptual and strategic development of controlling processes and results
- Participation in the development of structural and organizational optimizations for administrative areas and collaboration in cross-departmental project groups and planning teams
- Participation in the support of administrative departments in the development and implementation of departmental controlling

The prerequisite for filling the position is:
- Successful completion of training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d) in conjunction with passing the second examination for employees in the municipal administration and cashier service (Verwaltungsfachwirt (m/f/d))
alternatively
- Successful completion of training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d) in conjunction with current participation or willingness to participate in an employee training course II at a municipal study institute. Passing the final examination of the Angestelltenlehrgang II is a mandatory requirement for a permanent position. Failure to pass the examination will result in a different position in the administration with a corresponding classification.
or
- a successfully completed bachelor's degree in business administration, economics or a comparable course of study.
or
- Successful completion of training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d) in conjunction with a successfully completed degree in business administration (VWA) or a comparable course of study.
This is a permanent position, which is generally suitable for part-time work, but can be filled on a full-time basis. Employment will be based on qualifications and fulfillment of personal pay group 9b TVöD.
Applicants (m/f/d) who have not yet completed employee training course II at the time the position is filled will be placed in pay group 9a TVöD until they pass the second examination. During the period of attendance of the Employee Training Course II, the allowance will be paid in accordance with the district collective agreement on the training and examination obligation.
