Given the nature of this position of responsibility, there are additional high requirements; specifically, the following are also required:
- Solid expertise and, preferably, experience in the municipal sector, either in project management for civil engineering and road construction or in the areas of fees, charges, and public procurement law
- Several years of professional experience in an administrative setting or a comparable municipal environment are desirable

This is a permanent position that is, in principle, suitable for part-time work but must be filled on a full-time basis. Employment is based on an employment contract governed by the collective bargaining agreement for the public sector (TVöD), which includes the social benefits customary in the public sector. Support Staff Wanted for Municipal Elementary Schools
The Idar-Oberstein City Administration offers an after-school care program at Göttschied Elementary School, which is available to schoolchildren on weekdays from Monday through Friday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. At the other municipal elementary schools, after-school care is available on Fridays from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The scope of responsibilities for this after-school care program includes, among other things, supervising children during lunch, assisting them with their homework, and organizing playful, creative, and/or athletic recreational activities for the children in the program.
As part of this afternoon care for pupils, the Idar-Oberstein city administration is looking for motivated and resilient workers for short-term employment as soon as possible. This employment is limited to a maximum of three months or 70 working days within a calendar year and may not be carried out on a professional basis.

The building management team is looking for a construction technician (m/f/d) specializing in structural engineering to support the diverse tasks in building construction.
The City of Idar-Oberstein's building management department looks after all municipal properties with regard to necessary new buildings and conversions. The building management department is also responsible for the structural maintenance of buildings and the management of technical facilities.
The scope includes schools, day-care centers, school sports and multi-purpose halls, fire stations, administration buildings, city library, parking garages, public toilets, city theater, exhibition hall, various other buildings such as the train station Idar-Oberstein and also some historic buildings such as the castle Oberstein.
The range of tasks is very diverse and varied. In addition to the usual building maintenance work required for buildings, construction work on extensions, conversions and new buildings are also part of the job. As there is a large building stock to look after, tasks relating to preventive fire protection and the restoration of building damage must also be carried out.
