Employee (m/f/d) to strengthen the team of the driving license office
The main contents of the position include
- Processing driving license applications, driver cards and driver qualification certificates
- Processing of driving license holders (m/f/d) who have been convicted during the probationary period as well as driving license holders (m/f/d) who have been convicted several times for having points
- Verification of fitness to drive
- Procedure for refusal/withdrawal/revocation and reissue of driving licenses
- Granting of cab and hire car licenses, cab tariff law
- Enforcement of the Driving Instructors Act, in particular the driving school inspection and approval as well as state recognition within the framework of professional driver qualification
- Tasks according to the Professional Driver Qualification Act
- Participation in the context of digitalization
- Budget processing
In addition to the above-mentioned tasks, the job holder (m/f/d) will be assigned additional tasks from the area of the Citizens' Office as required. We reserve the right to assign further tasks from the area of the Public Order Office.
We are looking for an employee (m/f/d) who has the ability to work independently combined with a willingness to take responsibility and organizational skills, very good knowledge of the relevant legal regulations, strong communication skills and cooperation skills (teamwork and conflict resolution) and is able to deal with the public in a friendly, respectful and dialogue-oriented manner.
The prerequisite for filling the position is:
- Completed training as an administrative assistant (m/f/d) or successfully completed Administration Course I (formerly Employee Course I)
alternatively
- Completed vocational training of at least three years in the commercial sector as well as the willingness to obtain additional qualifications
and
- Willingness to participate in and successful completion of the Administrative Training Course I (formerly Employee Training Course I) (passing the final examination of the training course is a mandatory prerequisite for the permanent performance of duties / failure to pass will result in another position in the administration with a corresponding classification)
This is a permanent position, which is generally suitable for part-time work, but is to be filled on a full-time basis. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be graded according to pay group 9a TVöD.
Employee (m/f/d) to strengthen the team of the municipal building department
The main job contents include in particular
- Collaboration in the area of the procurement office
- Cooperation in the area of the lower building supervisory authority
- Performing the tasks of housing promotion and promoting private modernization in the redevelopment areas
- General matters of the Construction, Infrastructure and Environment Committee
The right is reserved to transfer further tasks from the area of the municipal building authority.
Your requirements profile:
- Good knowledge of administrative law combined with a quick grasp of the situation
- -good knowledge and skills in dealing with EDP as well as the willingness to familiarize yourself with any specialist applications
- Ability to work in a team as well as being citizen-friendly

Employee (m/f/d) for the management of the city marketing association and to support the team of the city building department This is a part-time position with a permanent contract and 25 hours per week
The main job contents include in particular
- Management of city marketing association incl. organization + implementation of events
- Collaboration in the area of business development
- Performing municipal funding management tasks, in particular advising public authorities, citizens and companies on funding opportunities
- Broadband representative for the city
We reserve the right to transfer further tasks from this area.
Your requirements profile:
- Qualifications: Completed training as an administrative specialist (m/f/d) or as an administrative assistant (m/f/d) in the commercial sector or a comparable qualification related to the job profile.
- Working style: You have the ability to work independently, have organizational skills, are reliable and responsible.
- Communication: You are a strong communicator, outgoing and open.
- Flexibility: You are also prepared to work outside normal working hours.
This is an open-ended part-time position to be filled with 25 hours per week. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be graded up to pay group 9b TVöD.
Supervisors (m/f/d) for the municipal elementary school for four hours per week (Fridays in the afternoon)
The main job contents include in particular
- Childcare
- Assistance with eating
- Organizing playful, creative and/or sporting leisure activities for the children in their care
Your requirements profile:
- pedagogical experience or previous training in working with children
- Independence, motivation, initiative
- Sense of responsibility
These are permanent part-time positions, which are to be filled for 4 hours per week on Fridays. Depending on qualifications and fulfillment of personal requirements, the position will be graded according to pay group 3 TVöD.
Supervisors (m/f/d) for the municipal elementary school as part of short-term employment
The city administration of Idar-Oberstein is looking for childcare staff (m/f/d) for its elementary school, who are available from Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:00 during the school vacations.
The tasks within the scope of this childcare offer include looking after the children, assisting with meals and organizing playful, creative and/or sporting leisure activities for the children in our care.
As part of this care for pupils, the Idar-Oberstein city administration is looking for motivated and resilient workers for short-term employment as soon as possible. This employment is limited to a maximum of three months or 70 working days within a calendar year and may not be exercised professionally. You enjoy working with children and young people and are characterized by flexibility, team spirit and reliability. In addition, a friendly and open manner is a matter of course for you.
