Fines (traffic violations)

Anyone who has committed an administrative offense may be issued a warning or fined. If a road user has violated traffic laws and regulations, this traffic violation is penalized in accordance with the warning or fine schedule. The amount of the warning fine or penalty fine depends on the type of traffic violation.

Warning fine
A warning fine is imposed for traffic violations that, according to the list of offenses, can be penalized with an amount of up to 55 euros. Violations of this kind are not recorded in the Central Traffic Register of the Federal Motor Transport Authority.

Fine
A fine is imposed for traffic violations that, according to the list of offenses, can be penalized with a fine of 10 euros or more. When a fine notice is issued, administrative and delivery fees are also due.
Violations of this kind are entered into the Central Traffic Register of the Federal Motor Transport Authority and, depending on the type of traffic violation, result in the assignment of points.

Please note: The new schedule of fines has been in effect since 2017.
