To do this, the residential street must be closed to traffic. Residents were already informed in June about the planned construction schedule and are now receiving updated information from the contractor and the city’s Department of Public Works.
The project includes the replacement of the roadway, sidewalks, and lighting systems. The pedestrian connection to Idarer Straße will also be renovated. In addition, Stadtwerke Idar-Oberstein will replace the sewer and water lines as well as the service connections to homes. Other utility companies will renovate their systems as needed during the course of the project.
Work will begin with the installation of the water main. Depending on weather conditions, this work is scheduled to be completed by the winter break. This will be followed by the sewer and road construction phases. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in August 2027.
The city administration asks residents and road users for their understanding regarding the inconveniences caused by the construction project.
