When the Advent season bathes Oberstein in festive lights, four Christmas evening walks invite everyone interested to experience the town’s special atmosphere in a charming way. The Advent walks are organized by the EdelSteinLand Tourist Information Office. On the four Saturdays of Advent, tour guide Jörg Staiber leads participants on a contemplative walk to the Felsenkirche—accompanied by a festive Christmas spirit, the Poetry Trail, and fascinating insights into Oberstein’s most famous landmark.
The walk begins at 5:00 p.m. at the market square in Oberstein. From there, the route follows the Lyrikweg up to the Felsenkirche. During a guided tour of the Felsenkirche, participants will learn many interesting facts about this impressive church and its history. Afterward, the group descends along the Lyrikweg to the Alte Kanzlei restaurant, where the evening comes to a close in a cozy atmosphere.
A Culinary Finale at the Alte Kanzlei
Around 6:30 p.m., participants can look forward to a group dinner featuring stuffed dumplings, a regional specialty. Both a traditional and a vegetarian option are available. Participants will be asked to indicate their meal preference during registration so that there is a dish to suit every taste.
The combination of a charming evening stroll, the special atmosphere of the Felsenkirche, and a cozy meal makes this event a wonderful experience during the pre-Christmas season—whether with friends, family, or as a little break from everyday life.

The participation fee is to be paid in cash to the tour guide. Please be sure to wear sturdy shoes and warm clothing, as the rock church is unheated. When registering, please also indicate whether you would like the classic or vegetarian stuffed dumplings.
