How can companies network more effectively, develop shared ideas, and strengthen Idar-Oberstein as a business hub? These questions will be the focus of the “Junior Chamber meets Economic Development” fireside chat on Monday, November 23, 2026, at the Parkhotel Idar-Oberstein , hosted by the Idar-Oberstein Junior Chamber in collaboration with the city’s economic development office. The event offers entrepreneurs and other interested parties the opportunity to engage in conversation, make new connections, and learn about each other’s networks and areas of responsibility.
The evening begins at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception. At 7:00 p.m., the Idar-Oberstein Economic Development Agency and the Junior Chamber will introduce themselves. They will discuss their respective roles, goals, and opportunities to support the regional economy and foster dialogue among its stakeholders. A highlight of the program will be the subsequent presentation by Mayor Frank Frühauf. Starting at 7:20 p.m., he will share insights into his personal career path, his previous work with the Junior Chamber, and his current role as mayor. The discussion will also focus on how entrepreneurial engagement, municipal responsibility, and the development of the local business community can be combined. Starting around 7:50 p.m., the focus will shift to getting to know one another and networking. In a relaxed atmosphere, attendees will have the opportunity to deepen conversations, exchange experiences, and gain new ideas for collaboration in Idar-Oberstein.
“A strong business community thrives on people who stay in touch, share ideas, and make a difference together. The fireside evening is intended to create a space for exactly that and further strengthen the connections between businesses and the city,” according to the organizers’ shared vision.
Those interested are asked to register in advance by email at info@wj-io.de no later than November 15, 2026. The Idar-Oberstein Junior Chamber and the city’s economic development office look forward to a stimulating evening, fruitful discussions, and new connections for the regional economy.
