The first race begins at 2:00 p.m., and the two races for seniors start at 4:30 p.m. The running competition is organized by the City Youth Welfare Office in cooperation with the Idar-Oberstein City Association of Sports Clubs and TV 1848 Oberstein. Registration is now open; registrations submitted for the original date remain valid and active.
Runners in the U-8 age group (born between 2019 and 2022) are eligible to participate in the Old Town Run. In Race 1, they will cover a distance of 370 meters. The distances increase with each age group up to Race 6, which covers approximately 6.5 kilometers. The route runs through the pedestrian zone below the Felsenkirche. The start and finish are located behind the Tourist Information Office in the Oberstein neighborhood.
All participants will receive a commemorative medal; the top three finishers in each age group will receive their certificates at the awards ceremony. The other certificates are available for download on the registration portal. The awards ceremony for the youth races (1 through 4) will take place after Race 4. The awards ceremony for the seniors will take place following the two main races.
