How can small and medium-sized businesses implement artificial intelligence quickly and profitably? Answers to these questions will be provided at the Rhineland-Palatinate SME Day on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at the Idar-Oberstein Exhibition Center.
Under the theme “AI Solutions for the Region,” the event brings medium-sized user companies together directly with regional AI providers and research institutions. The focus is on proven AI solutions for office environments and AI in production processes—ranging from knowledge management, customer service, and HR to production planning, quality monitoring, and energy management.

At the conclusion of the event, the “Attractive Employer Rhineland-Palatinate” awards ceremony will honor companies that successfully combine technological progress with high employee satisfaction. The award will be presented by Minister of Economic Affairs Michael Ebling and is given in cooperation with the Rhineland-Palatinate Investment and Structural Bank, the Rhineland-Palatinate Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) Working Group, the Rhineland-Palatinate Working Group of Chambers of Crafts, and the Institute for Employment and Employability.
SME Day is an event organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Technology, Energy, and Climate in collaboration with Rheinland-Pfalz Gold and the Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Agency. The Rhineland-Palatinate Savings Banks Association supports SME Day as a sponsor and partner.
