The work on the Nahe superstructure in Idar-Oberstein in the area between the Otto-Decker traffic junction and the Stadttheater/Festhalle traffic junction was completed last year with the exception of the transition structures in the direction of Birkenfeld. As it was not possible to reprogram the traffic signal control system before the Christmas holidays at the end of last year for capacity reasons, the existing traffic safety measures should remain in place to the current extent until the company is able to resume work at the beginning of this year.
According to current information from the construction company, it is already "in the starting blocks" to be able to resume construction work at short notice. Unfortunately, this was not yet possible in the recent frosty and damp weather. As soon as the weather becomes more constant and a longer mild and dry phase is reported, the remaining work on the transition structures, which will take another six weeks, will be carried out. The entire section of road will then be completed and traffic will be able to flow again as usual.
