37th Idar-Oberstein Old Town Run

After the original date—the last Saturday in June—was canceled due to the heat wave at the time, the traditional Idar-Oberstein Old Town Run will now take place on the last Saturday in September. The program features a total of six races for various age groups.

Runners from the U8 age group (born between 2019 and 2022) can take part in the Altstadtlauf, completing a distance of 370 meters in race 1. The distances increase for each age group up to run 6, which is around 6.5 kilometers long. The route leads through the pedestrian zone below the Felsenkirche church. The start and finish are located at the back of the tourist information office in the Oberstein district.

Registration for the Altstadtlauf is available at my.raceresult.com; the online portal is now open. The registration fee is 5 euros for adults and 2.50 euros for children and teenagers; children under 8 run free. The registration deadline is Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 11:59 p.m.; late registrations are not accepted. Registrations submitted for the original date remain valid and active. If runners who have already registered are unable to participate on the alternate date, please send a brief message to Armin Vogt.
