REVISION – Exhibition Opening at Villa Bengel

We are pleased to invite you, as part of the “Idar-Oberstein Adorns Itself” exhibition program, to the opening reception of the exhibition “REVISION: Between Tradition and Innovation”:

on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. at Villa Bengel and via livestream on the Jakob Bengel Foundation’s Instagram channel (jakobbengel), featuring opening remarks by Peter Wenzel and Prof. Theo Smeets, as well as an introduction by Dr. Kateřina Nora Nováková, curator at the State Museum of Glass and Jewelry in Jablonec nad Nisou, Czech Republic.

The exhibition presents a unique fusion of historical costume jewelry and modern design. As part of the project, students from five European universities have transformed Art Nouveau and Art Deco costume jewelry into contemporary fashion accessories (Technical University of Liberec, University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava, Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław, and Trier University of Applied Sciences, Gemstone and Jewelry Campus in Idar-Oberstein).
