Applying for an extension of a preliminary building permit
Service description
Before submitting a building application, a written decision on individual questions of the building project (preliminary building decision) can be applied for with a preliminary building application. As an anticipated part of the building permit, a positive preliminary building decision is binding for the subsequent building permit procedure. The period of validity of the preliminary building permit can be extended upon application.
The extension can be linked to new ancillary provisions by the building supervisory authority.
Procedure
You must apply for an extension in text form to the lower building supervisory authority before the validity period of the preliminary building permit expires.
Responsible body
The lower building supervisory authority is responsible for issuing the building permit. This is the district administration, in independent and large towns belonging to the district, the municipal administration or the association municipality administration if it has been assigned building supervision tasks (Diez and Konz association municipality administrations).
What fees apply?
Cost amount (variable): from 60.00 euros up to 750.00 euros.
What deadlines do I have to observe?
You must apply for an extension in text form to the lower building supervisory authority before the preliminary building permit expires (4 years).
