Apply for an extension of a temporary driver's license for Classes C, CE, C1, or C1E
Service description
Truck driver's licenses are now issued only for a limited period. Your Class C, CE, C1, or C1E driver's license is therefore valid for a maximum of 5 years. You must submit an application before the license expires to renew it for another 5 years.
Responsible body
The local driver's license office at the city or county administration is responsible.
What documents are required?
- Identity card or passport
- current driver's license
- biometric passport photo
- Proof of Your Vision
- must not be more than 2 years old at the time of application
- Proof of your physical and mental fitness
- must not be more than 1 year old at the time of application
- must not be more than 1 year old at the time of application
What fees apply?
The fee is based on the scale of fees for road traffic measures (GebOSt). If the driver's license is sent directly to your home address, an additional shipping fee will be charged.
