Service descriptionThe application must be made in person at the driving license office. In addition, all bus drivers must apply for a certificate of good conduct from the administration responsible for them.
The following documents must be submitted with a new application or an application for an extension:- Identity card or passport (with confirmation of registration)
- Driving school application
- A photograph that complies with the provisions of the Passport Ordinance
- General medical report including performance assessment and ophthalmologist's certificate
- First aid certificate for 9 units, if this has not yet been submitted with the truck driver's license application
- Previous driving license; if this was not issued by the driving license office where you are now applying for the driving license, a copy of the file card from the last issuing driving license office must also be submitted. In order to obtain a D class driving license, it is necessary to hold/acquire a class 3 or B driving license.
- Certificate of good conduct (according to § 30 para. 5 sentence 1 of the Federal Central Register Act)
The average processing time is 8 weeks. The driving license is usually issued by the driving examiner after passing the driving test. The previous driver's license must be handed in in exchange.

In order to obtain a D class driving license, it is necessary to hold/acquire a class 3 or B driving license
The processing time is 8 weeks.
