Service description
If you would like to build or rebuild a house or have questions about the development of your property, the Lower Building Supervisory Authority of the town of Idar-Oberstein is your competent point of contact. You will be supported in the planning and implementation of your building project with professional advice.
The building supervisory authority is at your disposal for the following services:
- Normal and simplified building permit procedure
- Exemption procedure
- Building consultancy within and outside of building inspection procedures
- Issuance of preliminary building permits
- Certificates in accordance with the Condominium Act
- Construction supervision
- Preventive and recurring inspections
- Management of the register of building encumbrances (entries, copies, information)
- Assignment of house numbers
- Inspection of old files
In addition to these tasks, the building supervisory authority also acts as a regulatory authority, e.g. in the elimination of hazardous conditions or in the context of so-called "illegal buildings".
The Lower Building Supervisory Authority of the Idar-Oberstein city administration is responsible for the entire area of the city of Idar-Oberstein. The Birkenfeld district administration is responsible for the rest of the district.
