Simple certificate of good conduct
Service description
General information:
Police clearance certificates provide information on whether the person named in the certificate has a criminal record or not. Employers therefore often require a certificate of good conduct before hiring a new employee. There are two types of certificates of good conduct:- the private certificate of good conduct (for private purposes)
- the official certificate of good conduct (for submission to a German authority)
The data for the certificate of good conduct is taken from the Federal Central Register. The certificate of good conduct is available on request to anyone aged 14 and over.
What documents are required?
Valid identity card or passport.
What fees apply?
The fee is 13.00 euros. This amount must be paid to the local registration office when submitting the application. The Federal Office of Justice may reduce or waive the fee in cases of "indigence" or for "other equitable reasons".
