Most local authorities and independent organizations, such as youth groups and associations, offer extensive and varied vacation activities, especially during the summer vacations, but also during other school-free periods.
The platform www.ferienboerse-rlp.de, for example, is an exchange for vacation offers from non-commercial providers in the field of extracurricular youth work. Here you can, among other things

- or various youth trips to Italy, Sweden or France.
Many of these measures are also funded by the state ("Holiday care in Rhineland-Palatinate" funding) and are aimed specifically at primary and lower secondary school children.
