Behavior in emergency situations
Flash floods, floods, the coronavirus pandemic, power outages - these events are just a few examples of emergency situations that have occurred in Germany in recent years. The state aid system steps in and provides support in such situations. But even the best help is not always available immediately. In large-scale emergencies, the emergency services cannot be everywhere at once. If you are prepared, you can help yourself, your relatives and neighbors until government aid arrives and reduce damage with protective measures. Help to manage emergency situations together and take precautions. Here you will find some suggestions and recommendations for planning your personal emergency preparedness.
Find out more
If a crisis occurs, you will receive up-to-date information here, among other places. But during and after disasters, the usual communication channels do not always work perfectly. In the event of a power failure, landline telephony and the Internet are immediately out of service.
What options are there then?
- Radio (e.g. battery-operated radio or car radio)
- Warning apps such as NINA or KATWARN
- Social media channels of the city administration
- Facebook: www.facebook.com/stadt.idaroberstein
- Instagram: www.instagram.com/stadt_idaroberstein
- In the event of a prolonged emergency, a citizens' hotline is activated to provide information to the public.
- In hazardous situations, such as a power outage lasting longer than 30 minutes, the four fire stations of the Idar-Oberstein volunteer fire department are manned. Emergency calls can be made from there via radio.
Take precautionary measures
