Rüdiger Mais celebrates his service anniversary
Rüdiger Mais joined the city administration on April 1, 1987 and works in the locksmith's shop at the building depot. Among other things, he is responsible for repairs, traffic signage, parking meters and machines and fountains. In 2004, he was also assigned the duties of dam keeper at the Kammerwoog dam, and in 2010 he was appointed responsible for playground maintenance and upkeep. In the meantime, Mais worked in building management for around two and a half years, but then returned to the building depot.
"Rüdiger Mais is one of the pillars of the building depot in terms of task fulfillment and reliability," emphasized Mayor Friedrich Marx and thanked the jubilarian for his many years of commitment. The administration is very satisfied with his performance, said Marx. He was also pleased that Mais had so far completed his long period of service without any injuries, "which is not a matter of course in this area of work."
Construction depot manager Gerhard Baum pointed out that Rüdiger Mais' area of responsibility had changed and expanded considerably over the years. He thanked his colleague for the many years of good cooperation, as did Wolfgang Petry, Head Office Clerk, for whom the jubilarian was always a reliable contact at the building depot. Staff Council Chairwoman Susanne Becker pointed out that Rüdiger Mais had also been an active member of the staff council for several terms and had been committed to his colleagues. Those present then congratulated the jubilarian on this special day of honor with a certificate of thanks from the Minister President and gifts.
Boris Steinke goes into retirement
Boris Steinke was initially employed by the building depot on a temporary basis from April 1, 2004 and worked in green space maintenance. Due to his good performance, he was given a permanent contract and worked at the central cemetery for many years. He has been working in the gardening team at the building depot for a good 5 years and is now retiring at the end of January.

"We have always been very satisfied with your work," said Mayor Marx, praising Boris Steinke's achievements and thanking him for his many years of service at the building depot. Gerhard Baum emphasized the good cooperation with the future pensioner and praised his reliability. LBB Wolfgang Petry and Staff Council Chairwoman Susanne Becker also thanked Steinke for his work. He was then sent off into retirement with a few gifts and good wishes for the future.
"I'm happy with my work, I always enjoyed it and I had good colleagues," emphasized Boris Steinke. He is glad that he found a good job here after moving to Germany from Kazakhstan.
