The consultation hour gives citizens the opportunity to discuss their concerns with Mayor Friedrich Marx and the head of the Idar-Oberstein police station, Police Councillor Kimberly Short, in a protected environment and in direct exchange.
The citizens' consultation hour is part of the Idar-Oberstein police's "Combating crime in public spaces" concept and is part of the recently agreed security partnership between the Birkenfeld National Park district, the town of Idar-Oberstein, the Herrstein-Rhaunen municipality and the Idar-Oberstein police and criminal investigation department. In this way, the police and public order authorities want to respond specifically to security concerns and strengthen preventative measures. The aim of the citizens' consultation hour is to enter into a direct dialog with the citizens of the town, to receive information from the public, answer questions and discuss concerns and suggestions.
- Anyone wishing to make an appointment for the consultation hours is requested to register in advance via Mayor Marx's office by Monday, March 9, 2026. Please state your concerns when registering. The number of participants is limited to allow for individual discussions. A maximum time frame of 20 minutes is planned for each consultation. Contact for registration: Mayor Marx's office, telephone 06781/64-1020, e-mail Vorzimmer.BGM@idar-oberstein.de.
