Revitalizing the city together and networking: The "Citymood" initiative of the Idar-Oberstein Economic Development Agency invites you to the grand opening of this year's after-work series on 7 May 2026, starting at 5 pm on Schleiferplatz. This year's special feature: for the first time, the event is being held in close cooperation with WFG BIR mbH, the business development and project development company Landkreis Birkenfeld mbH. The other after-work events will then be organized in cooperation with the Idar-Oberstein City Marketing Association. As in the past two years, families, friends and colleagues are cordially invited to find their way to Idar-Oberstein to spend a relaxed evening together, celebrate and exchange ideas.
Thanks to the cooperation with WFG BIR mbH, the invitation is also expressly aimed at entrepreneurs and interested parties from the entire district. The aim is to make new contacts, strengthen existing networks and further expand regional cooperation. "We are very much looking forward to this kick-off and the first joint after-work event with WFG BIR mbH. It's a great opportunity to bring the players in our city together with entrepreneurs from the district," says Sarah Wagner from the Idar-Oberstein Economic Development Agency.
WFG BIR mbH also views the collaboration positively: "Such formats offer a valuable opportunity to bring people, companies and institutions together in a relaxed atmosphere. It is precisely this personal exchange that is an important basis for a strong regional network," emphasizes Christina Biehl, Managing Director of WFG BIR mbH.
A diverse selection of local restaurants will be catering for your physical well-being. Among others, the Sinner & Saints Bar, the Brasserie, the Stüber wine concept and ETB-Events will be there on May 7. A special highlight: the local youth will also be actively involved. Pupils will be running a food stall to boost their "graduation fund" for the upcoming celebrations.
The band "ALLES" will provide the right atmosphere and the best entertainment. However, the evening is more than just a social get-together - it marks the start of another exciting year full of encounters, exchanges and shared experiences. Further dates for the 2026 after-work events: June 11, August 13 and September 3.
