It is important that children learn how to behave in the event of a fire at an early age through play. This is why the children and teachers at the Enzweiler daycare center regularly carry out fire drills. The more often these take place, the safer everyone feels.
Every fire drill is different: sometimes everything runs smoothly, sometimes a child doesn't want to leave the playhouse because the alarm is so loud. In this way, the participants learn to respond and react to different situations. The children at the Enzweiler daycare center are now very well versed and know exactly what to do thanks to theoretical information in books and films, inspections of the daycare center with explanations of the fire safety signs and practical implementation.
After the latest fire drill, a vehicle from Idar-Oberstein fire station 1 even came to the daycare center with its siren. This was a great experience for the children, who were allowed to look at the fire engine from the inside and were of course very enthusiastic. In bright sunshine, the children were even allowed to spray the fire hoses themselves. This was a special highlight, with all the children and adults having lots of fun running through the water fountain.

Fire drills can be carried out in a playful way and encourage children to behave safely in dangerous situations. The Enzweiler daycare center would therefore like to thank the firefighters from Fire Station 1 for their fantastic efforts and excellent cooperation.
