The program
- Saturday, October 18, 2025, 8 pm: "Rausch der Freiheit", Chawwerusch Theater
500 years after the Peasants' War, Chawwerusch tells a story of awakening, anger and hope. At the center is the desire for justice - "Fryheit" is written on the insurgents' banners. On a second time level, the present meets the past: two construction workers are to demolish a memorial site - and in doing so awaken the ghosts of history. With speed, humor, song, dance, music and depth, "Rausch der Freiheit" brings the thoughts of 1525 into the present - and poses the question: What is freedom worth to us today?
- Saturday, November 22, 2025, 8 pm: "Der erste letzte Tag", Thespiskarren Tournee-Theater
A canceled flight forces two completely different people, who have to share the last available rental car, on a road trip from Munich to Berlin: the well-adjusted teacher Livius, who wants to save his marriage, and the impulsive journalist Lea, who prefers to live life like her last day. The play, based on the novel by Sebastian Fitzek, is a turbulent, warm-hearted story about courage, truth and friendship - and about how a single day can change everything.
- Friday, December 5, 2025, 8 pm: "Weihnachts-Schlagertherapie", Mnozil Brass
Christmas: Requests to buy on every corner, the rush of consumerism and mulled wine, the irritation of fairy lights for the eyes and constant sound for the ears. If you want to get away from it all, Mnozil Brass is the right choice. They escape into the ideal world of hits from the 50s and 60s - from Caterina, Vico, Connie and Peter, Udo and, of course, Peter the Great. They let the audience forget the worries of the world for a short time and surrender to their most yearning dreams.
- Saturday, January 17, 2026, 8 pm: "The Tempest", New Globe Theater
The play is considered Shakespeare's legacy and is one of his few that retains the unity of time and space. With an island as a symbol of the Theatrum Mundi, a wistful reminiscence by Shakespeare of the famous circular theater building of the old Globe Theater in London. With this production, the New Globe Theater returns to its roots, the Elizabethan theater. It uses Shakespeare's wonderful language, his lively playfulness and his desire to explore the world with the means of the theater to bring the sensual pleasure of experienced stage action and his own imagination to the audience's eyes and ears again and again.
- Saturday, February 21, 2026, 8 pm: "Alice - Spiel um dein Leben", Hamburger Kammerspiele
In this one-person play with piano, Natalie O'Hara plays the pianist Alice Herz-Sommer and tells the story of her survival as a Jewish musician in the Theresienstadt ghetto. A true story about the power of music as an emotional theatrical experience. The play traces Herz-Sommer's time in Theresienstadt, where she gave concerts and struggled to survive with her six-year-old son, and also brings to life the magic of music, which seems to have protected her from bitterness and despair.
- Saturday, March 14, 2026, 8 pm: "Out of the Shadows", Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie
With this symphony concert, the Rheinische Philharmonie is once again devoting itself entirely to the music of female composers - and putting the spotlight on works that deserve to be heard more often. The title of the evening does not refer to hidden treasures, but to a step out of the shadows of standard concert programs towards a visibility that is long overdue. Pieces by Mel Bonis, Emilie Mayer and Louise Farrenc will be performed.
