The Stadttheater Idar-Oberstein once again has a place to linger, chat and clink glasses after performances: On Saturday, November 22, 2025, the new WunderBar will open following the theater performance "The First Last Day" based on the novel by Sebastian Fitzek.
In cooperation with the tenant of the theater restaurant, DSG GmbH, which also manages the WunderBar, the Department of Culture has succeeded in reviving the long unused rooms in the Stadttheater and thus fulfilling the public's frequently expressed wish for a meeting place after the events.
In future, the WunderBar will be open to theatergoers after all evening events and give them the opportunity to end the evening in a pleasant atmosphere - with a drink, good conversation and perhaps also a direct exchange with the artists of the evening. Head of the Cultural Office Annette Strohm is delighted with the successful revival of the premises: "The theater thrives on exchange. With the WunderBar, we are once again creating a place where people can meet after the performance - without any time pressure, but with plenty of space for discussions and encounters." The opening of the WunderBar is a further step towards strengthening the Stadttheater as a lively cultural and meeting place - a concern that connects audiences, artists and organizers alike.
