On Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 10 a.m., classic car enthusiasts from the region and beyond will once again meet at Schleiferplatz in Idar to present their cars and exchange ideas with like-minded people. All classic car owners whose vehicles are 30 years old or older are invited, regardless of where they come from. For the first time, vehicles built in 1995 are allowed to attend, regardless of whether they are cars, motorcycles, mopeds or trucks. The event is free of charge and no prior registration is required. Last year, around 200 vehicles were on display, ranging from cuddly VW Beetles and replicas of the legendary Mercedes 500 K to everyday heroes such as the Golf III and the Opel Omega.
The classic car meeting is organized by Automobilclub Idar-Oberstein e.V., Stadtmarketing Idar-Oberstein e.V. and Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld. In the afternoon, a round trip of approx. 80 km through the picturesque landscapes of the Hunsrück will again be offered for all interested parties. Once again this year, the event will be accompanied by music and Leonhard Stibitz will be the host. With his immense knowledge, he will be able to provide professional information on almost all classic cars. Not only fans of classic cars can see and experience many interesting things.
