As part of the CityMood inner city program, Bärbel Busch won an ideas competition for the design of the unsightly area at the Nettomarkt in Idar and immediately began with the implementation. An important criterion for the competition was the thematic reference to Idar, which should be given in the beautification of the area. Busch achieved this perfectly with a motif that fits in with the Jazz Days.
"The ugly smeared surface in Idar had been a thorn in our side for a long time," says Caroline Pehlke from the business development department and her colleague Sarah Wagner adds: "We are very pleased with the successful and lively work of art by Bärbel Busch." The artwork received a lot of positive feedback from passers-by as soon as it was created. "I was very pleased that many passers-by in the pedestrian zone immediately recognized the connection to the Jazz Days and that the reactions to the design were all positive," says the artist Bärbel Busch happily. As this campaign was so successful, another unsightly, dirty area in the city center is to be redesigned this year.
