Successful launch of the new daycare center

The new municipal daycare center in Regulshausen opened on April 1, 2025. The facility offers 50 places for children aged 1 to 6 years - seven of which are for children under 2 years and 43 for children over 2 years - all of which have already been allocated. Together with council and committee members and the companies involved, the town council has now inspected the new daycare center, and an open day is expected to be held for the public next year.

Located in the Regulshausen district, the daycare center is situated on an area of around 3,000 square meters in the street Höstchesflur. The single-storey building with an area of more than 600 square meters was built using a timber frame construction. The technical equipment with heat pump, PV system and central ventilation system is based on the latest standards. Among other things, the facility has play, construction and craft rooms, a movement construction site, a research room as well as sleeping, rest and relaxation rooms. The spacious outdoor area is equipped with play towers, various swings, slides, a mini-twister and a water playground.

After a lengthy period of planning and preparation for the project by the city's building management department, construction work began in September 2023 and continued until March 2025. Not all of the final invoices are available yet, but the construction costs including ancillary construction costs and furnishings currently stand at just under 5.2 million euros.

After the operating license was granted, the new Regulshausen daycare centre opened on April 1, 2025. At the start, 10 children were accepted for acclimatization. There are currently 17 children attending the facility and the acclimatization process is gradually continuing. A total of seven educators are currently looking after the children.

During the tour of the facility, Lord Mayor Frank Frühauf was impressed by the spacious facilities and modern technology and said: "This was not just a daycare center - it was an investment in the future: in environmental friendliness, in child-friendly architecture, in an educational home". Frühauf thanked the representatives of the companies involved in the construction and the employees of the municipal building management, who were responsible for the planning. The Lord Mayor was also impressed by the play facilities in the outdoor area: "And the outdoor area! I think many of us would like to be children again: play towers, swings, slides, a mini-twister and even a water playground - it almost sounds like a small leisure park."
