Four new online services at the city library

The new services are provided via an online platform funded by the Rhineland-Palatinate State Library Center (LBZ) and are available to all library members free of charge. The full funding of the offer by the LBZ for the year 2025 enables a decisive expansion of the city library's digital media portfolio - at no additional cost to users.

Thanks to the new digital services, there is access to high-quality education and information services around the clock, 365 days a year - conveniently via all common end devices. Membership of the Idar-Oberstein City Library is all that is required to use the extended range of services. The introduction of the new services will specifically strengthen the areas of information literacy, reading promotion and media education. Riffreporter offers independent, ad-free journalism with in-depth reporting on current topics. Polylino provides a wide selection of digital picture books with multimedia support to promote the reading and language skills of children of kindergarten and primary school age. Phase6 is a didactically sound language learning app that enables effective vocabulary training in various languages. Sofatutor supports learners of all grades with digital learning content that can be used flexibly and from any location.

The new digital offerings and further information are available on the website https://digitale-medien-rlp.de.
