As always, the colorful and child-friendly vacation booklet designed by Bärbel Busch from Schwollen includes more than 90 interesting activities for children and young people aged 6 to 18. The one-day or multi-day projects from clubs, institutions and artists from the region are divided into five categories: sport, music and dance, creativity, excursions and activities as well as media and technology. Children can choose their preferred events from the range on offer together with friends or their parents. Registration can be done conveniently online or using the form in the vacation booklet. At the end of June, a computer will draw lots to determine the participants from all the registrations. They will then receive confirmation of participation by post.
"The program naturally includes a number of 'classics' that are there every year, but also new activities. There are new offers, especially in the media and technology category," reported Sabine Moser and Sebastian Herzig. There are also always changes to the cooperation partners, "some take a break for a year, but new ones come along." The new activities include offers from Marina Engelmann, Paul Markus Deus, the Steeldart department of TuS Tiefenstein, Antenne Bad Kreuznach, the Idar-Oberstein Clinic and AWB Birkenfeld.
Mayor Frank Frühauf underlined the special importance of the summer holiday program. "It offers children and young people the opportunity to spend their vacation time in an exciting and varied way, while at the same time parents know that their children are in good hands." The mayor also thanked the sponsors for their valuable commitment. The vacation program is supported by the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Education, Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld and the Bürkle Foundation.
