Markus Petry was hired as a forester at the municipal building depot on June 1, 1985. In 1996, he transferred to the administration in the enforcement department of the municipal treasury and was also appointed as an enforcement officer. He subsequently successfully passed the first examination for employees in the municipal administration and treasury service. In 2003, enforcement was merged with the enforcement department of the public order office and Markus Petry was also appointed as a municipal enforcement officer. He carried out both activities for a long time, but later the two areas were separated again. Petry now works in the enforcement office.
Mayor Frühauf praised Markus Petry's achievements in his four decades of service to the city of Idar-Oberstein and thanked him for his work. City Treasurer Carsten Stützel also emphasized the exemplary performance of the jubilarian: "In a difficult field, he works with calm and prudence and is also committed beyond the call of duty." This is because Markus Petry acts as a representative for severely disabled colleagues. "In this role, he works intensively with the staff representatives, and we have been able to achieve a lot here in recent years," emphasized Susanne Becker, Chairwoman of the Staff Council. Finally, the well-wishers presented the jubilarian with a number of gifts, including a certificate of thanks from the Minister President, and wished him all the best for the future.
