Working together for greater safety in Idar-Oberstein

The city and the Idar-Oberstein police department are offering a first joint citizens' consultation with Mayor Marx and the head of the Idar-Oberstein police department, Police Councillor Short. This will take place on Monday, June 23, 2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the premises of the city administration.

The focus is on a direct exchange with those responsible from the city administration and police. The aim is to enter into a direct dialog with the city's citizens, to receive information from the public, answer questions and discuss concerns and suggestions.

The citizens' consultation hour is part of the Idar-Oberstein police's new concept "Combating crime in public spaces". With this approach, we want to respond specifically to security concerns and strengthen preventative measures.

Interested citizens are asked to register in advance by Tuesday, June 17, 2025, via the office of Mayor Marx. Please state your concerns when registering. The number of participants is limited to allow for individual discussions.

  • Contact for registration: Mayor Marx's office, telephone 06781/64-1023, e-mail Vorzimmer.BGM@idar-oberstein.de. The city and police are looking forward to a dialog with the citizens and to working together to further improve safety and quality of life in Idar-Oberstein.
