The outdoor pool season starts at Whitsun

After preparations had already begun in spring - including replacing the liner in the non-swimmers' pool, fitting the sandy beach with a sun sail and improving it with additional sand, renewing wooden benches, fitting the rafting channel with new tires, cutting back the filter plants and "clearing" the sunbathing lawn of molehills - this year's outdoor pool season at the Staden natural pool begins on Whit Saturday, 7 June 2025, at 10.30 am.

The outdoor pool is open Monday to Friday from 12:30 to 19:00 and on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:30 to 19:00. During the summer vacations, the pool is open daily from 10.30 am to 7 pm. Opening times may vary in bad weather, information on this can be found on the hotline 06781/263640 and on the website https://baeder.idar-oberstein.de/. The Idar-Oberstein indoor pool will remain open alongside the natural pool. At the start of the summer vacations, from Wednesday, July 9, 2025, the indoor pool will be closed for around three weeks for the annual maintenance work.

Bathing water without chlorine and chemicals

Idyllically located in the Tiefenstein district, right at the gates of the Hunsrück-Hochwald National Park, the Staden natural pool offers a vacation feeling right on your doorstep with various sunbathing lawns, a beach volleyball court, playground and sandy beach. The bathing water is biologically purified by a plant filter and is therefore free of chlorine and chemicals. This is not only good for the environment, allergy sufferers also appreciate the special water quality. To round off the bathing experience, pretzels, ice cream and other snacks, drinks and bathing articles are available in the bistro in addition to the classics such as sausages with chips.

Admission prices for the Staden natural pool

For adults, the day ticket costs 4.50 euros, the family day ticket 4 euros and the late tariff from 5 p.m. 3 euros. The reduced admission price for children and young people aged 6 to 17 and other groups of people costs 3 euros for a day ticket, 2.50 euros for a family day ticket and 2 euros for a late ticket. A 5 percent discount is granted for the use of cash value tickets worth 50 euros and a 10 percent discount is granted for tickets worth 100 euros.
