After the first event in June was well received, the city and Idar-Oberstein police department are offering their next joint citizens' consultation hour on Tuesday, 22.07.2025, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on the premises of the city administration. The consultation hour gives citizens the opportunity to discuss their concerns with Mayor Friedrich Marx and the head of the Idar-Oberstein police department, police councillor Kimberly Short, in a protected setting and in direct exchange.
The citizens' consultation hour is part of the Idar-Oberstein police's new concept "Combating crime in public spaces". With this approach, the police and public order authorities want to respond specifically to security concerns and strengthen preventative measures. The aim is to enter into a direct dialog with the town's citizens, to receive information from the public, answer questions and talk about concerns and suggestions.
- Anyone wishing to make an appointment for the consultation hours is requested to register in advance via Mayor Marx's office by Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Please state your concerns when registering. The number of participants is limited to allow for individual discussions. A maximum time frame of 20 minutes is planned for the individual consultations. Contact for registration: Mayor Marx's office, telephone 06781/64-1020, e-mail Vorzimmer.BGM@idar-oberstein.de.
