Mayor Marx visits AWO city recreation program

Once again this year, Mayor Friedrich Marx and Sabine Moser from the City Youth Welfare Office took the opportunity to visit the event in person.

On the extensive sports grounds in Hammerstein's Meerhafen, 160 happy children, dedicated supervisors and this year's motto "fairground" awaited him - including activities such as "Hau den Lukas", the devil's beam "Eliminator" and the popular water slide. In the spirit of summer and carefree vacations, Mayor Marx symbolically presented Mike Stauder, Head of Leisure, with a fruit basket filled to the brim. This represents the weekly fruit quota that the City Youth Welfare Office has been donating for years - a healthy contribution to the energy supply of the little adventurers.

Mayor Marx praised the long-standing commitment of the AWO and in particular the great dedication of Mike Stauder: "The city recreation program is a real lifeline for many families during the vacation season. It offers children great experiences and provides important relief not only for working parents. A big thank you to all the helpers who put their heart and soul and creativity into making this leisure time something special every year."

The city recreation program runs for three weeks and offers children a varied mix of games, fun, exercise and community.
