No grave decorations on rest areas

These are mainly grave candles, but sometimes also large arrangements. As understandable as it is for relatives to commemorate their deceased loved ones, according to the Idar-Oberstein cemetery statutes, no grave decorations may be placed on the urn graves and lawns of the rest parks. The cemetery administration would like to point out that this is only permitted in the specially designated places.

The photo shows a burial site next to a burial plot.
However, many visitors already use the designated drop-off points.

Visitors are also informed of all these regulations by appropriate signs. Nevertheless, the employees still have to remove objects that have been placed in violation of the regulations in order to be able to carry out their work. This is because, in addition to seasonal mowing work, maintenance work must also be carried out in the cemeteries throughout the year. The deposited objects are also a hindrance when digging graves for reserved resting places. For this reason, the cemetery administration appeals to you to only use the designated areas for depositing grave decorations.
