The event was organized by the steering group of the social space budget and the daycare centre social work.
The conference was opened by Michael Schweizer, Head of the Idar-Oberstein Municipal Youth Welfare Office, who warmly welcomed all participating managers, provider representatives and specialist advisors and emphasized the importance of this cross-provider exchange. Sophie Oberländer then presented the daycare needs planning of the city of Idar-Oberstein. She presented current developments in child numbers, statistical bases and forecasts that are essential for the planning and management of daycare places.
Another focus of the afternoon was the presentation of three facilities - the Barbararing daycare center, the Waldkita daycare center and the Flachsspreite daycare center. As some of these daycare centres have been newly opened or extensively renovated in recent months, the participants were given exciting insights into new room concepts and modernized structures. The presentations impressively demonstrated how the daycare landscape in Idar-Oberstein is evolving and adapting to current needs.
Afterwards, the participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas in their newly formed matchings. These matchings, in which daycare centers work together across different providers for a set period of time, serve to exchange ideas and learn from and with each other. The participants actively took up this networking opportunity and enriched each other as a result.
