On Sunday, August 17, 2025, Schleiferplatz in Idar will once again be transformed into a mecca for classic car enthusiasts. From 10 a.m., classic car enthusiasts from the region and beyond will once again meet there to present their automotive treasures and exchange ideas with like-minded people. All classic car owners whose vehicles are 30 years old or older are invited. The event will be accompanied by music from DJ KFR, alias Flo Reidenbach, a well-known DJ from the region, who will play the right music for the event.
For the first time, the 1995 model year is now allowed to take part and it doesn't matter whether it's a car, motorcycle, moped or truck. The event is free of charge and no prior registration is required. Last year, around 200 vehicles were on display, ranging from cuddly VW Beetles and replicas of the legendary Mercedes 500 K to everyday heroes such as the Golf III and the Opel Omega.
The classic car meeting is organized by Automobilclub Idar-Oberstein e.V., Stadtmarketing Idar-Oberstein e.V. and Kreissparkasse Birkenfeld.
In the afternoon, a round trip of around 80 km through the picturesque landscapes of the Hunsrück will again be offered for all those interested - a pleasure for riders and spectators alike. Leonhard Stibitz will once again be the expert presenter this year. With his impressive specialist knowledge, he will provide extensive information and exciting anecdotes for almost every vehicle. There will be plenty of interesting things to see and experience, and not just for fans of classic cars.
