When the two anniversary races start on Sunday, September 21, 2025, a long-cherished wish will come true for Rainer Hagner. "I've been thinking about a carpet like this with the marathon team logo for years," explained the chief organizer. Now it has finally worked out and the three-piece runner was delivered on time by the manufacturer based on Lake Constance. This was not so easy at first, as they are normally only produced in red or blue. "But of course I wanted the marathon team green, that's our trademark."
To make his dream come true, Hagner invested a lot himself, but was also able to count on the support of long-standing sponsors. "This shows once again how much we all - organizers, helpers and sponsors - pull together to make this unique event a success." Mayor Frank Frühauf was also delighted: "The marathon team always comes up with special ideas to make the event even more interesting. This green carpet is as unique as the stair run."
Rainer Hagner is positive about the number of registrations: 82 participants have registered for the two races so far. "I'm delighted that the head of the Idar-Oberstein police station, Kimberly Short, is also taking part with a larger team." And there is still some time to go before the closing date. The running groups offered by the marathon team to train for the stair race are also well received. "There were 35 runners there recently, as well as the fire department team training for the hill run."
