ROCK STABILIZATION MAINZER STRASSE

Update 23.04.2024

So far, the rock stabilization work in Mainzer Straße in the Idar district has been carried out in the first construction phase between the junctions of Prof.-Schlossmacher-Straße and Pappelstraße. The work in this area will be largely completed in the coming week.

From Monday, April 29, 2024, the work is then expected to switch to the second construction phase, which will extend in Mainzer Straße from the junction with Pappelstraße to the building at Mainzer Straße 124. To carry out the work, it will be necessary to set up a one-way system in this area. For this purpose, the lane in the direction of the Oberstein district will be closed and traffic diverted to the other lane. At the same time, the longitudinal parking spaces along Mainzer Straße in this area will no longer be available. Traffic heading towards the Idar district will be diverted via Emil-Kirschmann-Brücke and Hauptstraße.

In the area of the first construction phase, both lanes will be available again from April 29, but the "Pappelstraße" bus stop will still not be usable.

On Monday, March 12, 2024, rock stabilization work will begin on Mainzer Straße in the Idar district between the junction of Prof.-Schlossmacher-Straße and Mainzer Straße 143 (Hoher Steg). After the construction site has been set up, the necessary clearing work will initially take place from Wednesday, February 14 to Friday, February 16, 2024 in the area between the junctions of Prof.-Schlossmacher-Straße and Pappelstraße.

From Monday, February 19, the actual rock stabilization work will then take place in this section, during which rockfall protection nets and rock netting will be installed. To carry out the work, the existing single-lane traffic routing will be extended to cover the entire section. During this time, the "Pappelstraße" bus stop will be closed.

When the work in the first section is completed, the construction site will be relocated to the section between the junction with Pappelstraße and Hoher Steg.
