On Monday, November 2, 2026, construction work to resurface the road and repair the sidewalks will begin on Mainzer Straße in the Idar neighborhood. The work will take place in the section between the intersection with Pappelstraße and the building at Mainzer Straße 136 and is expected to last five weeks.
To carry out the work, the affected section of the road must be closed to through traffic. The detour will run along Hauptstraße and across the Emil-Kirschmann Bridge. Delivery and local traffic will be permitted with restrictions; however, parking will not be allowed in the construction zone during the renovation work. Pedestrians can use the designated sidewalks in the construction zone as indicated by signage.
