Fiesta is a street theater parade with the best ingredients of Italian tradition that transforms the venue into a Mediterranean festival: an evocative atmosphere that is transmitted to the audience thanks to the exuberant energy of the performers*; traditional songs from southern Italy that tell of love, revolt and justice; masquerade that recalls the Commedia dell'Arte and its grotesque characters; drums and whistles that the audience follows through the streets; imaginative costumes made of patches, feathers, wires and flowers; stilt dances that amaze the audience and entice passers-by to stand still.
Teatro Due Mondi is an independent theater group from Faenza in Italy that travels the world with its street theater productions. Since its foundation in 1979, the group has been dealing with issues relating to coexistence in society. In addition to street theater, Teatro Due Mondi also produces theater for children and young people, organizes socially committed theater projects, workshops, programme series with theater, dance and music and European projects in collaboration with partners from all over Europe. In their plays, the performers use authentic street theater techniques such as a cappella singing, masks and stilt dancing and always strive for direct and immediate contact with the audience.
