Marshall Cooper

Marshall Cooper
Inglorious Nasty Brass
Marshall Cooper's rocking brass band sound is both a predetermined breaking point and an all-purpose glue and is only too happy to cross the well-trodden paths to pop, funk n' surf, TexMex, rhythm 'n' blues and the soundtracks of legendary indie and exploitation cinema.
With the combination of a brass immensity, a powerful, trashy drum sound and an occasionally artificial penchant for turntablism, Marshall Cooper's compositions embody an impressive rough mix of dashing brass spectacle and the uninhibited attitude of legendary rock bands of the 80s and 90s.
What comes out is what has to come out: Danceable soul food, peppered with virtuoso spice, ironic lightness and a charismatic flavor of its own that has yet to fit into any genre pot.
