As part of its nationwide program "Germany needs strong railways", Deutsche Bahn AG is carrying out track and switch renewals in the area of Idar-Oberstein station from 27 March to 14 May 2026. For this reason, there may be increased noise and dust pollution in the following periods.
- from Friday, March 27, to Thursday, May 7, continuous
- from Thursday, May 7, to Thursday, May 14, during train breaks
Among other things, power generators, two-way excavators, track tamping machines, switch tamping machines, ballast leveling machines, work trains and various small machines are used.
Deutsche Bahn is doing everything it can to minimize the disruption caused by the construction work. Nevertheless, disruptions and changes to the construction process cannot be completely ruled out. The railroad asks for your understanding.
