vacation program 2026

The City Youth Welfare Office has started planning this year's vacation program. Existing and new cooperation partners are invited to submit their offers for the summer holiday program "Where to go on vacation?" by the end of March 2026 and also for the autumn vacations. The summer vacations run from June 29 to August 9, the fall vacations from October 5 to 16. Please note that the circus camp in Staden will exceptionally take place in the fifth week of the summer vacation. No offers are to be scheduled for this period.

Once again this year, the programs are intended to provide children and young people aged 6 to 18 and their families with a varied, creative and reliable vacation offer. There is one important innovation: for the first time, vacation care will also be provided within the framework of the All-Day Support Act (GaFöG). This means that the vacation offers are becoming even more important - as educational, leisure and childcare spaces at the same time.

Thanks to the funding applied for, the City Youth Welfare Office will probably be able to take over a large part of the financing of the measures as usual. This means that the cooperation partners generally only incur low costs. However, the GaFöG will change the cost planning and structure. The administration is currently developing suitable calculations and is therefore asking the cooperation partners to provide as much detail as possible about the cost planning for their offers.
